ActiveX
Up to version 4.11.0, SoftwareCentral used an ActiveX component to return the computer name.
The ActiveX component is still supported in Internet Explorer up to version 10.

Note that it is unsupported to use the ActiveX component on devices running Windows 10. |
If you are using the ActiveX component you can continue to do so and still implement the solution described in this document.
SoftwareCentral will automatically determine if the ActiveX is present and use that if possible, otherwise it will switch over to the SoftwareCentral Client.
