Introduction
The shop in SoftwareCentral uses the requesters’ computer name to determine where to install ordered packages and applications.
The shop gets the computer name by looking up the requesters IP-address in the DNS records.
In some cases, this is not always possible. This could for instance be if the users access the shop over a VPN connection or if the DNS server is not always up-to-date with its records.
To solve this issue, SoftwareCentral has two alternatives.
You can use our small client that can return the computer name to the shop.
